Our client is an entrepreneurial private equity firm that differentiates itself with its hands-on and long-term investment approach. The firm invests in small and mid-cap firms across the DACH region mainly, but not exclusively, in professional services including IT / software, consumer & B2B products with digitisation potential. Founded by a successful entrepreneur, the firm is backed by substantial private capital.
The team are looking to hire a Principal to drive business development of new investment opportunities. Once invested the person will then actively drive the value creation of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with Partners on sourcing and selection of new investment targets
  • Support investment analysis, diligence, structuring and negotiations through to closing
  • Involvement in forming the strategy and development of the portfolio companies present and future
  • Build trustful and effective relationships with portfolio management teams to achieve the value creation objectives
  • Continuous measurement and feedback, ongoing project management and reporting

YOUR PROFILE:

  • You will have started your career at a leading consulting firm, with significant experience in strategic planning, project management and change management
  • You may also have spent time, either on secondment or in a later permanent role, in a mid-sized company or start-up, with exposure to operational management
  • Outstanding analytical skills and a passion to drive projects forward independently as well as a strong sense of entrepreneurship
  • The role requires a balance between a structured, detailed approach and the flexibility to adapt as circumstances change. Central to this are communication skills and empathy, the emotional intelligence to earn the right to influence portfolio management teams
  • Native level German and very high fluency in English are essential
