Associate, Top Mid-Cap Buyout Fund, Munich

One of the top performing international mid-cap funds is seeking an additional Associate for their office in Munich, offering an excellent career-development path for high potential candidates

Our client is one of the best established mid-market private equity firms in Europe and enjoys an excellent track-record and reputation. They have recently raised a significant new fund and continue to build a strong deal pipeline. The firm is now looking to hire an additional Associate-level candidate to join their Munich team. This is an great chance for an ambitious person with strong commercial judgement and great people skills to join a top team and build a long-term career in the private equity market.


  • You will work on the financial and commercial analysis of new deal opportunities in the European mid-market space across sectors but with a noticeable recent emphasis on TMT related deals
  • The core responsibility will be for the financial modelling and due diligence workstreams, but you will be involved in all aspects of the deal cycle, including active portfolio management
  • Working in small teams, you will get great exposure to the entire transaction cycle and learn from some of the best senior investors in the field. Additionally, our client offers the opportunity to take on more responsibility over time and develop a true long term career - they hire with a view to partner potential and expect to develop you accordingly


  • Previous professional experience at a top-tier investment bank or strategy consultancy, ideally with exposure to private equity transactions; candidates may also come from other successful private equity firms
  • Alternatively, our client is especially keen on entrepreneurial candidates with previous exposure to venture capital, or experience in a successful start-up. The firm is happy to provide appropriate training and support as necessary and to invest in your technical development to enable great people from non-corporate finance backgrounds to get up to speed quickly
  • Excellent modelling skills, great commercial judgement and a genuine interest in the private equity market
  • You display an outstanding track record throughout your whole academic career and can demonstrate a range of other interests and achievements beyond work and study
  • You must have fluent German language skills and excellent English in order to be able to communicate effectively with senior colleagues and target companies in diverse international settings; this means the role is open to non-native speakers, providing you bring the brains and the attitude. Other fluent Western European languages are helpful but are not formally required
  • The investors are ambitious, but modest team-players and so should you be. They are looking for dynamic high-achievers with a down-to-earth working attitude and the drive to launch a long-term career in investments
