About the Role:

Join our team as an Senior Underwriter for Directors & Officers and Commercial Crime, where you'll evaluate risks through balance sheet and company analysis, prepare insightful risk reports, and craft competitive new-business and renewal offers while negotiating terms with brokers and clients. In this high-impact role you'll build and deepen broker and client relationships, service key accounts, report to the Underwriting Manager D&O and Financial Institutions Germany, and help shape the portfolio and underwriting strategy while accelerating your professional growth.

About the Department & Team:

The D&O-department underwrites Directors & Officers Liability Insurance products and further Financial Lines products for commercial companies within Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe. The department provides top level customer service to smal, large and medium sized entities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrites new business and renewal business of D&O Commercial`s product suit (Focus D&O and Crime)
• Customer focus on large middle market companies and SME
• Builds and maintains highly effective and responsive working relationships with brokers and insureds to ensure new and renewal business.
• Has underwriting authority of reviewing and underwriting target new business, renewal business and endorsements
• Negotiates policy terms and conditions and wordings
• Supports marketing LSM to brokers and prospected insureds, including attending, leading and delivering meetings and presentations to ensure the flow of new and renewal business
• Trains other members of the department in building underwriting knowledge
• Maintains a highly effective and responsive working relationships with LSM colleagues to provide a top level customer service
• Assists local Underwriting Manager in the planning, budgeting and marketing processes
• Demonstrates and shares high level expertise of the Financial Lines product line with the team
• Supports cross-selling activities with other product lines
• Keeps logs and files and workflow processes updated
• Performs related duties and special projects to assist in ensuring the success of the operation

Skills and Experience:

• Strong and proven insurance technical experience in lead business in the German Commercial D&O/Crime market
• Strong network in German Commercial D&O/Crime market
• Proven track record in delivering results
• Strong knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices and procedures
• Strong verbal, negotiation, sales, marketing and communication skills
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Timely, accurate and able to prioritize
• Demonstrates strong communication skills
• Demonstrates initiative and drive
• Excellent team player
• Flexibility of hours and possibility of travel (Germany and international) may be required
• Fluent in English and German
