Internship Data Analytics in Investment Banking Department/ Capital Markets

Role Description

If you have a background in IT / Programming / Data Analytics, this internship is a great opportunity to get insights into the Debt Capital Markets department of a global investment bank. In this front office role you will be part of an international team and involved in every aspect of Bond Origination, which means client coverage, deal origination and execution functions. The main responsibilities include organisation of deal records and internal databases, research of capital market developments, preparation of pitch books and presentations. While we are happy to share our knowledge around the capital markets, in return we want to learn from you and improve the tools we use. You will steer the automization and optimization of databases, analyse larger databases and have the freedom to suggest and implement new ideas.

Traditional experience in investment banking or finance is not required.

Strong skills in VBA / Python are necessary.

Qualification

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are a must
  • Strong excel skills (complex functions, pivot) and strong skills in VBA (develop macros, review codes, automate repetitive tasks) or python (Panda, Spyder, Anaconda or similar)B
  • Bloomberg experience is a plus
  • Interest in financial markets is a plus
  • Relevant work experience in fintech, consulting (or similar) would be a plus
  • Readiness to work variable hours subject to market / deal conditions
  • Fast learner with ability to multi-task under tight deadlines
