A major international bank is looking to hire an Operational Risk & Outsourcing Manager for its new EU HQ in Frankfurt. This is a standalone role reporting to the CRO. Fluent German is not a prerequisite and the firm will consider a relocation.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Implement the operational risk management framework proportionately for the Bank
  • Ensure that operational risk are identified and assessed through the risk register and other techniques
  • Coordinate and drive the capital assessments for operational risk required to meet regulatory expectations
  • Manage the operational risk appetite framework for the Bank
  • Manage the operational risk policy framework for the Bank
  • Manage the operational risk reporting requirements for the Bank
  • Co-ordinate operational risk reporting to the Executive Board and Supervisory Board and relevant risk committee(s)
  • Ensure that the bank maintains an acceptable market standard in reporting meeting business, regulatory, and market expectations and standards
  • Serve as deputy CISO for the Bank
  • Implement the third party risk management framework

 

Experience Required:        

 

  • Educated to degree level
  • Knowledge of the market and regulatory standards for operational and third party risk management
  • Detailed understanding of internal and external reporting of operational and third party risk management
  • Understanding of measurement techniques used in operational and third party risk
  • Good knowledge of market standard operational and third party risk management frameworks
  • Good knowledge of risk appetite setting for operational risk
  • Understanding of the regulation relating to risk (MaRisk, BAIT and relevant European regulations )
  • Demonstrable grasp of risk frameworks and their link to strategy
