Graduate in Corporate Clients Research - FX & Commodity Research (m/f/diverse)
Task
During our 12-month special trainee programme at our Frankfurt location, you will receive the tools and support you need to successfully establish yourself in your new role at Commerzbank Research. Our trainee programme is aimed at university graduates who will complete their studies with very good results within the next 6 months. As part of the trainee programme, you will spend a month in our London office attending product-related and technical seminars. A diverse mix of technical training, workshops, e-learning modules and case studies will provide you with extensive expertise in the various areas of investment banking.
Within Commerzbank's Corporate Banking, the Research division is responsible for the preparation and marketing of macroeconomic research and financial market analysis. You will work in the FX Research group which is responsible for the analysis of exchange rates and their derivatives. Our team mainly follows a fundamental approach, i.e. seeking to explain exchange rate movements essentially with macroeconomic factors. In collaboration with other research teams, FX Research conducts macroeconomic analysis, forecasts exchange rates, identifies FX risks, and communicates research results to clients and media.

Profile
  • Master or diploma in economics with above-average results or foreseeable corresponding degree
  • Good knowledge of macroeconomics, in particular monetary theory and international macroeconomics is a prerequisite
  • Good knowledge of econometrics, statistics and/or data analytics is desirable
  • Good knowledge of R or Python or similar programming languages is desirable
  • Practical experience in empirical work is advantageous
  • High degree of initiative, creativity, diligence
  • Very good written and spoken English skills
  • You are also proactive, highly motivated and an ambitious team player
