CFO, VC-backed Growing Battery Manufacturing Company on IPO track, Itzehoe, Germany

About our client

Our client is a leading developer and manufacturer of premium high-performance battery cells, backed by well-known Venture Capital investors. In addition, they offer comprehensive consulting services for energy storage concepts and process technology. Over the years they have partnered with some of the leading manufacturers within the automotive industry, aviation, medical technology as well as the chemical industry.

Now, they are looking to hire a CFO to join their management team and support them on their growth journey towards an IPO. The position requires travelling to different company sites in Germany and the United States. What the job involves

• Being a sparring partner to the CEO and key member of the management team
• Leading the finance function including Accounting, Controlling, Legal and Investor Relations
• Providing relevant information, detailed analysis and background to underlying business performance, external benchmarks and insights to support decision-making
• Reporting accurate financial results to the management and shareholders as well as preparing ad-hoc analyses
• Continuous improvement and optimisation of finance processes as well as controlling instruments and tools
• Budget planning and forecasting, as wells as cash and liquidity management
• Supporting and driving funding and financing processes
• Being in lead of possible IPO-exit - IPO-readiness, IPO-track story and execution
• Main point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, lawyers and other external contacts

Who we are looking for

• Experience in preparing and executing an IPO is a must
• University degree in Business Administration, Finance or related disciplines
• Significant experience as a CFO in a manufacturing company, ideally experience working in the battery, automotive, aviation, pharma or semiconductor manufacturing sectors
• Financing experience and a good network to banks would be advantageous
• Ideally prior experience working in a start-up environment as well as a corporate environment
• Previous experience working with private equity/venture capital investors would be helpful
• Outstanding finance skill set with strong controlling and accounting capabilities - knowledge of project controlling is highly beneficial
• Restructuring experience is welcomed
• Knowledge how to deal with various stakeholders, such as shareholders and banks
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a high-energy level and a hands-on mentality
• Strong analytical and strategic skills
• Strong communication skills with fluency in English, fluent German skills would be beneficial
