Customer Service Operator
Join a dedicated Government team delivering high-quality front-line services to the people of New South Wales. As a Customer Service Operator, you will be a key point of contact for members of the public, businesses, and government agencies helping them access essential government services quickly and with confidence.
Based within Newcastle Service Centre, you will handle a wide range of enquiries across multiple channels including phone, counter, and digital, ensuring every interaction is resolved efficiently and with care.
Full training is provided.
Interviews Held: Thursday 2nd July 2026
Expected start date: Monday 16th July 2026

Role Specifics:
- Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email in a professional and timely manner
- Process applications, transactions, and service requests accurately in accordance with policies and procedures
- Assess customer needs and provide appropriate information, referrals, or escalation as required
- Maintain accurate records and data entry within government systems
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment that priorities customer experience
- Identify and report issues or process improvement opportunities
- Demonstrated experience in a customer service, contact centre, or frontline service role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and empathetic manner
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet KPIs
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing information or transactions
- Proficiency with computer systems and ability to quickly learn new software and processes
- A commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and the NSW Public Sector values
- $35.80ph + super
- Full-time, 35 hour week for work-life balance
- Rotating shifts from 7am - 7pm (7hrs per day)
- 6-month initial contract with possibility for permanent role
