CRE is focused on multiple real estate asset classes including residential, hotels and offices, funded with capital from a Guernsey-based Fund and from Separate Accounts. We are known for our deep connections in the industry, our in-house project management and asset management expertise.

The FC position is based in Berlin, where the candidate will provide support to the Group in accomplishing the role set out below.

Financial Controller (m/f/d) in Berlin (fulltime)

As the Financial Controller you support the German Head of Finance and Group CFO in managing the financial processes of the Group. You also work in an international Team which is diverse and has a lot of Experiences. Your location is in Berlin but with the possibility of some travel to Luxembourg and London

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed business studies with a focus on finance or controlling
  • Several years of professional experience, ideally within a Funds environment – either PE or Real Estate
  • Good conceptual skills
  • Pronounced affinity for numbers and analytical skills
  • Excellent IT skills (especially Excel and Power Point, BI) as well as pronounced IT affinity
  • Ideally knowledge of Datev
  • High level of commitment and structured way of working
  • Independent and reliable personality
  • Hands-on approach and strong execution skills.
  • Intercultural skills and experience in diversified organisations
  • Communicative personality who enjoys international cooperation and shows an ability to work with different teams, professionals, personalities and styles, with excellent communication skills, a very strong work ethic and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude. 
  • Excellent skills in written and spoken English & German


  • Overall to assist in the set up and subsequent management of processes that allow for consolidated financial group information to be reported on a regular and efficient basis
  • Annual Budget Preparation for Group Companies
  • Budget v Actual Reporting with commentary
  • Update Budgets to revised Forecasts, track changes and report on them
  • Cash Flow Forecasting / Reporting for Group Companies
  • Interpretation and analysis of key figures and proactive assessment and identification of suitable financial measurements
  • Ongoing target / actual analysis, development and presentation of KPI reports and recommendations for action
  • Participation in (international) special projects and support for group-wide finance projects
  • Implementing new reporting standards and ensuring Group-wide reporting quality
  • Coordination and participation in monthly and annual accounts where appropriate
  • Liaising with accounting teams internally and externally to ensure accurate and timely delivery of reporting
  • Ad hoc queries from Partners / Shareholders / Deal team / other stakeholders
  • Continuous development of risk management processes to highlight areas for improvement
  • Analysis and adaptation of existing operational processes for the purpose of maximising efficiency and transparency
  • Establishment of controls to ensure efficiency, accuracy and timely reporting of required information
  • Monitoring and control of operational processes
  • Account logic compliance
  • Process Controlling
  • Creation of ad hoc analyses and evaluations
  • Establish a relationship with German and Luxembourg accounting teams
  • Ensure efficient communication of processes
  • You will report to the German Head of Finance
