Head of Dealing

 

Role Purpose

 

The Head of Dealing will be responsible for the dealing desk of Western Union Business Solutions for France and Benelux. Western Union Business Solutions is the dedicated entity to corporates, helping companies spend less time managing their international financial transactions and more time growing their businesses. Through our experienced foreign exchange dealers, our proven bank-to-bank payment platforms and international payment tools, and our comprehensive currency risk management solutions, we help clients to improve cash flow, manage risk, and seize global market opportunities.

 

The Head of Dealing will be responsible for team performance to Revenue, Retention, and Activity KPI’s. They will manage the performance to these metrics through one to one portfolio reviews, call coaching on and off the desk, proactive training and development and working with all key internal stakeholders.

You will also be required to ensure adherence to all audit and control procedures including daily deal monitoring. Forecasting and pipeline management will be an essential part of the role. Additional to these key responsibilities the Head of will also work with Credit and Treasury teams daily to ensure ongoing support of the business objectives.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Targets – Full responsibility for team revenue target. Driving team and individual performance against financial targets.  Focus on New Business and Client Retention targets;

  • Performance Management -  Working on a 1-2-1 basis with each team member to optimize performance output. Meeting monthly KPI targets and driving individual performance to achieve financial forecasts. On desk call coaching;

  • Internal stakeholders – Internal relationships are key to success in this role. This will include time spent working with front office management teams to increase revenue and target initiatives to meet objectives. Liaise with other key stakeholders such as Credit, Treasury, Compliance, Marketing, other support functions;

  • Auditory requirements - within the current regulatory environment, topics such as record keeping and compliance with internal process are key concerns. Ensure all team members complete training in timely manner. Ensure dealers are meeting best practice requirements when executing deals/speaking to customers;

  • Responsible for planning own time and activity, while ensuring timely submission of information (e.g. forecasts);

  • Achievement of team revenue target;  

  • Work closely with the front office Management, Middle Office, Compliance & Credit teams.

 

 

About you

  • Previous management experience

  • High degree of professionalism;

  • Excellent communication and listening skills;

  • Ability to deal effectively with all types of people, build and maintain supportive relationships with key business stakeholders;

  • Effective time management skills including the ability to direct others;

  • Technical & fundamental understanding of broad financial markets;

  • Ability to disseminate technical and fundamental knowledge into a saleable form;

  • Adapt to change and to take on various projects;

  • In depth knowledge and understanding of suite of FX products;

  • Experience of meeting auditory, daily deal monitoring tasks.
