The Analyst will occupy a challenging role within the organization and will provide insight and advice having real impact on business performance and strategy. Reporting to the Vice President, Mergers and Acquisitions, the Analyst will work closely with the members of the M&A team to support the preparation of opportunity analysis, investment cases and bid documentation in order to help develop and execute transaction opportunities.

  • Based in Shanghai, fluent in both English and Mandarin preferred

 

The Analyst will occupy a challenging role within the organization and will provide insight and advice having real impact on business performance and strategy.Reporting to the Vice President, Mergers and Acquisitions, the Analyst will work closely with the members of the M&A team to support the preparation of opportunity analysis, investment cases and bid documentation in order to help develop and execute transaction opportunities.  More specific responsibilities include:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform industry research, preparing materials and managing databases to assist deal teams with origination
  • Conduct valuations of assets and companies in the renewable power space using various methods such as comparable company analysis, precedent transactions and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)  valuations
  • Build complex financial models used in the evaluation of potential transactions and to support transaction execution
  • Work with cross functional teams to contribute to the due diligence process
  • Assist in developing ideas for potential transaction and deal structures
  • Participate in regular planning meetings and prepare related support materials
  • Present select analysis to senior team members in a concise and comprehensive manner

Conduct special projects as required

 

Requirements:

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in corporate finance within an investment bank, private equity fund or accounting firm
  • Renewable power industry experience and an understanding of competitive power markets is not required but is considered an asset
  • Solid experience in detailed financial Excel modelling and valuation of relevant companies and markets
  • Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability with attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to address changing priorities and time demands
  • Team-oriented – excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative working relationships across multiple functional areas in the organization
  • Willingness to take on responsibility
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
