Job Summary / Job Purpose

  • Manage the Compliance support for retail banking business (or other business divisions in SG China)
  • Assist and act as the back-up to Head of Compliance in managing the Bank's overall Compliance risk in China, supervise Compliance team and ensure smooth Compliance operation nationwide


Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Tasks

  • Support Head of Compliance in communicating with country Senior Management and Business Line Heads on compliance risks; assist Senior Management in, or co-ordinate the resolution of compliance issues.
  • Be responsible for Compliance training (Induction, Regulations and AML), i.e. training materials development, delivery and coordination
  • Be responsible for regulation circulation, interpretation and implementation by working closely with team members and other Business Lines.
  • Provide advice to Management and staff as to the interpretation and implementation of local rules and regulations and new product activities in the PRC
  • Implementation of Permanent Supervision control and reporting
  • Participate new Product Validation Committee (NPVC) and grant Compliance validation
  • Be responsible for complaint handling
  • Oversee China Anti-Money Laundering control and processes
  • Manage the compliance support for one of the business divisions of SG China
  • Carry out other compliance related duties as instructed by Head of Compliance from time to time


Candidate Profile

Academic Background (degree and major)
  • Bachelor degree or above in Business, Finance or Law

Working Experience /Technical Skills & Know how

  • Over 8 years working experience in financial industry in Compliance, Finance or Operation area, incl minimum 4 years experience in reputable foreign bank(s)

Skills & Competencies

  • Self-motivated and detail-focused; able to work under pressure and multi-tasks
  • In-depth knowledge of local regulations and relevant compliance policies
  • Sound knowledge of banking products & services
  • Ccapable to communicate and express opinions clearly and effectively on compliance issues
  • Excellent communication and management skills

Language Skills

  • Fluent in both Mandarin and English

Computer Skill

  • Literate in MS applications, WORD, EXCEL, Powerpoint, etc
