Investment Banking Division
Our division works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on a merger, providing financial solutions for an acquisition, or structuring an initial public offering, we handle projects that help clients at major milestones. We work with corporations, pension funds, financial sponsors, and governments and are team of strong analytical thinkers, who have a passion for producing out-of-the-box ideas.
The Investment Banking Division Financial Institutions Group is looking for an Analyst/ Associate to be based in Hong Kong (preferred)/ Beijing.
The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) investment banking group provides corporate clients across the FIG spectrum with advice, access to financing and execution expertise across a wide range of investment banking products. Our FIG Group provides financing and advisory services to financial institutions and fintech tech clients, including the leading players in banks, insurance companies, asset management firms, security firms, financial technology companies, specialty finance, capital market infrastructure companies and other types of financial services firms we cover. Our group offers a wide range of products, including M&A advisory, debt and equity financing, structured finance, risk management/hedging and co-investing. Given the dynamic and relevant nature of FIG as an industry, our group offers an exciting and fast-paced environment with tremendous opportunity to contribute and grow.
Our Analyst & Associates play an important role in developing and strengthening our client relationships, participating on our advisory teams and in structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions. Their responsibilities include creating and analyzing financial models, organizing and preparing client presentations, helping manage transaction processes, client communication and engagement and assisting in structuring transactions. They will gain exposure to the firm's businesses and expand their knowledge of the investment banking industry, as they develop key analytical, communications and marketing skills.
Analysts & Associates develop financial models, perform customized company valuation analysis, and are actively involved in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and fixed income and equity issuances. They organize and prepare presentations, which explain industry trends, assess clients' situations to provide the necessary financial advice, and recommend strategies to meet client goals. Additionally, Associates coordinate teams of tax advisors, attorneys, and bankers for various transactions; lead execution of full transaction, conduct and facilitate due diligence processes and actively participate in the negotiations of legal documentation. From maintaining client communication to helping Goldman Sachs structure client transactions, our Associates are a vital part of Goldman Sachs' banking team's investments. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a financial discipline
- Minimum 1 year experience in FIG and related sectors within the private equity/investment banking/financial services industry required for Analyst applicants.
- History of outstanding academic and professional achievement
- Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members in multiple groups and regions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin is critical for the role
