My client are an exciting boutique prop trading fund set up by 4 partners, focusing on fundamental and quantitative trading of Chinese markets. Due to exceptional performance, they are looking to hire a high frequency Quantitative Researcher/Trader as they look to continue to build out the team their Quant Strategies team.

The ideal candidate will have 1-6 years of experience in HFT Trading from a leading firm with experience of researching/trading strategies in liquid markets such as cash equities and equity/commodities futures. This is an excellent opportunity to join a firm with tier 1 HFT infrastructure, a great platform with a collaborative environment with shared code and plenty of tools to help researchers. The firm operates a relaxed culture more like a Tech Start-up. For those more experienced Researchers/Traders there is the prospect of leading a small team and potential fast-track partnership programme.

A typical day will involve applying meticulous statistical analysis to vast quantities of market and financial data to produce predictive trading models. You will run models live on high-performance trading infrastructure, and analyse their daily performance to sustain ongoing profitability. Working in close collaboration with fellow Researchers/Traders, you will research, develop, and test order execution and model training methods to increase trading effectiveness.

Ideal candidate

  • 1 year + of high frequency trading research/strategy development experience
  • You are capable of working independently as well as part of a team
  • You can scrutinise and fix problems quickly
  • You are a quick learner and apply new skills well
  • You possess an advanced degree in Math, CS, Stats, Physics, or related field
  • Brilliant analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work creatively and independently on long-term technical problems
  • Familiarity with Python/C++
