Wells Fargo Compliance is the company's compliance second line of defense function, providing company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise.

Market Job Description

Within Wells Fargo Compliance, the Enterprise Testing group is responsible for establishing and maintaining a consolidated Enterprise Testing program at the corporate level. Enterprise Testing is responsible for developing a common methodology and standards, providing governance and oversight, executing testing; and conducting horizontal reviews. Testing and validation teams are responsible for implementing the Enterprise Testing methodology and standards, and executing group-specific testing.

Within Enterprise Testing, International Testing & Validation (T&V) performs testing of Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crimes, and Operational risks for the non-US regions including Canada, Latin America, EMEA, and APAC.

This role will be based in Toronto, report to the Head of International T&V. This team member will be responsible for the following:
  • Tracking and coordinating remediation of International T&V owned issues / corrective actions including preparing periodic updates
  • Act as a single point of contact for all four international regions and coordinate actively with the Wholesale/Enterprise T&V teams
  • Lead various change management initiatives on behalf of international regions
  • Represent International T&V on various Enterprise forums
  • Coordinate and provide updates to different forums within and outside Enterprise T&V
  • Manage space and recruiting needs for the team including tracking of recruiting metrics
  • Project leadership and support as required
  • Onboarding and off-boarding processes
  • Organize and lead periodic team/manager meetings
  • Lead team engagement initiatives including tracking of all recognition


Market Skills and Certifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk)
  • 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both in the risk function of banking experience
  • Prior project management experience
  • Knowledge of testing and audit principles and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, self-starter and highly motivated to work in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Detail and task oriented
  • Advanced hands on Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines despite competing priorities
  • Strong leadership, relationship building, and collaboration skills and ability to operate in a team-oriented culture
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
  • Ability to travel approximately 5%

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • Prior testing and/or audit experience will be a plus
  • Certifications in Audit and Compliance will be a plus
  • International experiences will be a plus
