Using discretion and judgment, acts as relationship manager for MFS institutional clients. Develops and maintains a close and direct relationship with institutional clients to ensure client satisfaction and serves as a trusted advisor; communicates client requirements within MFS, and proactively educates clients on industry trends and MFS capabilities in order to maximize net asset flows from clients.
•Primary focus is on client satisfaction and asset retention.
•Acts as primary contact for clients regarding all aspects of the relationship with MFS. Maintains, expands, and communicates knowledge of all client's needs, concerns and overall satisfaction with MFS, through frequent contact (direct, written, and verbal). Provides same services to client's consultant, as necessary.
•Educates client on multi-disciplinary capabilities of MFS; keeps client informed of product / organizational enhancements, and relevant industry information and developments in financial markets.
•Deepens institutional support at the client organization by developing additional executive contacts other than those directly involved in the relationship and make MFS expertise on relevant subjects available to the client as appropriate.
•Anticipates and develops opportunities to expand and strengthen the client relationship. Know client's evolving investment needs and proactively provide an appropriate solution. Involves other MFS regional sales personnel as necessary in this process.
•Anticipates risks to the relationships, take steps to protect them, and keeps MFS regional and global management teams apprised.
•Introduces clients to key MFS personnel to broaden the relationship. Monitors and prioritizes access to resources including investment team and senior management.
•Serves as the primary client advocate when interacting with other MFS departments (Client Service, Investment, Legal, Accounting, Compliance) to ensure that client needs are being met at all levels.
•Works with transition team to smoothly establish new relationships.
•Oversees all aspects of preparation and follow-up for client reviews and manages meetings. Prepare quarterly portfolio updates.
•Keeps appropriate parties (Sales, Marketing, Portfolio Management, MFSI Management) abreast of client needs and developments to ensure that goals are met.
•Maintains Client Strategy Plan that includes full understanding of client's business and executive personnel, financial, competitive and technological developments.
•Works with Investment Team to ensure investment presentations meet client needs.
•Responsible for client visits to MFS offices (i.e. due diligence meeting, review meetings, etc.).
•Support initiatives associated with client conferences and firm sponsored events.
•Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
•Bachelor's degree. Post-graduate education in a related area preferred
•CFA required and/or appropriate Canadian Registration (Advising rep. or Associate Advising Rep.)
•Bilingual French and English
•Minimum ten years’ investment-related or financial experience with at least 5 years’ experience in direct client-relationship capacity.
•Demonstrated passion for developing and nurturing client relationships.
•Knowledge of domestic and foreign financial markets and products required.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.
•Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
•Ability to work in a team environment and to travel.
•Position requires adequate Canadian registrations.
