Job Summary

This position will work to increase revenues for CME Group Products from new and existing clients across multiple Client Segments within the Latin America region, with a specific focus on regional commercial clients. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting and contacting target accounts to introduce CME products, assess opportunity, and drive growth as part of a broad outreach.  This would include proactively generating and managing a sales pipeline. 
  • Managing relationships with a portfolio of clients, including commercial agricultural trading companies, asset managers and regional banks.
  • Strategically and diligently following up with existing and new accounts to ensure questions are answered, relationships are maintained and grown, and any barriers to using CME products are addressed.
  • Working with the business line and research, engage with potential customers and other market participants in the region in the product development and validation process.
  • Support the partnership exchange relationships (B3 currently) in the region.
  • While the role will most closely be focused on commodities trading accounts, the Manager will need to become conversant in all of CME's products including technology offerings and those for managing other types of risk such as FX and interest rates.

Additional Accountabilities:
  • Provide input into market building strategies.
  • Independently develop relationships with senior and trading desk level individuals at prospective firms.
  • Work with resources across the enterprise to assist in resolving support issues.
  • Diligently and consistently enter and record activity into CRM system.
  • Leverage InfoSource and other data sources to track, analyze and report performance against key metrics and activities.
  • Participate in efforts to educate customers.
    Required Qualifications:
  • Experience with and knowledge of commodity products trading instruments and strategies.
  • Job Experience: Proven experience of either
    • Trading/merchandising experience in Latin America with agricultural commodities
    • Brokerage experience with a focus on commercial customer trading agricultural commodities
    • Sales experience within financial services, preferably derivatives with exposure to agricultural markets
  • Language:
    • Near native / fluent preferably in both Portuguese and Spanish 
    • Very good command of the other language above where they are not fluent
    • Very good command of English
  • Education: BA or BS in Economics, Math, Finance, Ag Econ or related field.
  • Software Requirements: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Salesforce skills a plus. 

Desired Qualifications:
  • Good understanding of physical underlying commodities markets and how futures, options, and derivatives trading strategies are used to manage risk. An understanding of the delivery market is a plus.
  • Good understanding of the regulatory environment for the futures industry.
  • Series 3 license either past or present is a plus but is not required.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing varying workloads.
  • Team oriented approach with the ability to perform under pressure.
    Travel required: 30-40% within Latin America & Home Office (Chicago)
