Principal, External Reporting - Finance - Brussels
The Principal, External Reporting, works with senior management roles to ensure that the appropriate external reporting policies, methods, standards, processes, reporting and training are developed, applied and understood by impacted stakeholders. He/she has extensive knowledge of regulatory reporting processes and in-depth knowledge of compliance in regulatory bodies.
The role will be in contact with various stakeholders from regional (Manchester) and global (Chennai) finance delivery center, finance management, external auditors and regulators. He/she will report directly to the Head of Regulatory, consolidation and statutory reporting for BNYM SANV. He will work in collaboration within a team of dedicated SME's having similar responsibilities.
This role will be responsible for second review and oversight of production done out of Regional Service center for dedicated European (CRD4/EBA reporting …) and Belgian reports (Schema A, statistics…). This include verification of the work performed, controls of accuracy, completeness, compliance with high quality standard expected from stakeholders and making sure submission is done within required timeline including escalation of issues to the local management.
This role will ensure completeness of proper description of control environment through maintenance of proper ICRR and documentation. He/she will be help with support to internal audit, Sox and external audit reviews. He/she will also be responsible to supervise or prepare response to ad hoc queries from different regulators.
The role will act as a Subject Matter expert to the dedicated reporting and will take care of preparation of matters of interpretation in regards to the reporting regulation. He/she will also be engaged in different project to implement new requirements, new reporting on assess the impact of On-Boarding of new products on his/her dedicated reporting.
The role will work in collaboration with other finance stakeholders including LE controllers to improve regulatory reporting processes.
Responsibilities within Brussels Finance:
1. Review of Dedicated European and Belgian Reporting :
Responsible of review of dedicated European or Belgian regulatory reporting: This include verification of the work performed by the regional delivery center, controls of accuracy, completeness, compliance with high quality standard expected from stakeholders and making sure submission is done within required timeline including escalation of issues to the local management. This includes the performance and evidence of control for management review and explanation of results to management through dedicated review meetings.
2. Handling of Ad Hoc Regulatory Request :
Preparation or supervision of answers to dedicated ad hoc regulatory request.
3. Subject Matter Expert :
He/she will take care of preparation of matters of interpretation in regards to the reporting regulation. He/she will also be engaged in different project to implement new requirements, new reporting on assess the impact of On-Boarding of new products on his/her dedicated reporting.
4. Support with Audit :
He/she will provide support to internal audit, Sox and external audit in their review of SANV processes.
5. Follow up of Regulatory Development :
He/she will monitor regulatory changes to his/her dedicated reporting requirements. He/she will analyse evolution to ensure the driving of relevant changes into the processes of the bank.
• Education: University Degree in Economics, Engineering , Business Accounting qualification or equivalent
• Experience: Over 6 years of relevant experience in European (CRD4, EBA, Pillar3 or SRB reporting) and Belgian reporting (Schema A, Statistics). Experience towards statutory reporting (IFRS FS, Schema B) is a plus
• Good communication skills able to adapt to the audience.
• Great team spirit able foster collaboration with people located outside of his group/location.
• Language Skills: English/French or English/Dutch
