Imm available perm Procurement Officer with international suppliers experience needed in the Illawarra.
Your new company
Our client based in the Illawarra has the need for a Procurement Officer with Imports and Exports experience. This is a permanent position and immediately available

Your new role
This role is responsible for but not limited to the following:
  • Being responsible for the purchase of goods and services on time and at the lowest cost
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships across locally and internationally sourced products
  • Monitor inventories and on-time delivery of stocked items and generate purchase orders and required
  • replenishment proactively across our nationwide distribution centres
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound freight requirements with freight forwarders
  • Maintain ERP data for items, suppliers and prices etc.
  • Participate and actively explore continuous process improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate export customer sales enquiries and orders
  • Be responsible for the generation and management of all required documentation and liaison for the
  • delivery of export orders
  • Work collaboratively with the clients Marketing, Procurement, Finance & Customer Service
  • teams
Procurement
  • Administer and maintain purchase requirement models and generate order requirements
  • Process order requisitions promptly and accurately
  • Ensure that stocked items are proactively replenished as required across our national warehouses
  • Actively pursue and follow up orders to ensure on-time delivery
  • Maintain ERP data for items, suppliers, price lists, etc.
  • Reconcile orders and invoices and generate payment requests for suppliers.
  • Negotiate best prices with suppliers
  • Monitor inventories of stocked items and determine quantities to be replenished between state warehouses
  • Monitor supplier performance in regard to timeliness of supplies, errors and quality of goods and services; initiate corrective action, as required.
  • Process inventory transfers and adjustments as required
What you'll need to succeed
Required
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a purchasing/sourcing or export sales role
  • Bachelor degree or education in relevant field (Commerce, Business, Procurement) preferred
  • Experience using ERP software (eg. Microsoft Business Central, NAV, Baan)
  • Experience in communicating and coordinating with overseas suppliers or customers
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to work with a high degree of independence yet at the same time recognise the importance of interdepartmental collaboration and team work
  • High level communication, interpersonal, presentation, and commercial skills,
  • Strong computer literacy skills, experience with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Microsoft Excel)
  • Other Relevant Experience, Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Business Central, Baan or equivalent ERP software preferred but not essential
