Senior Business Analyst / Test Manager, Large Exposures - 12 Month Contract

Join the Financial Management Group Project Management and Operations team in Martin Place and contribute to the success of a high performing team as a Business Analyst, with strong business change test management skills.

Your demonstrated success in a role within a financial services business as a Business Analyst / Test Manager and experience within a project delivery team will ensure you are a suitable candidate for this role. You will work across functional teams and focus on business process change projects and/or new platform implementations.

As a Senior Manager in the team, you will have diverse set of responsibilities including the main project of focus being Large Exposures, with stakeholder groups across Finance and Risk.

You will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of new reporting requirements, impacting both quarterly submissions to APRA and daily internal monitoring processes. You will engage with project managers and subject matter experts to review new regulations, facilitate interpretations and gather business requirements. You will work with systems and data architects to identify strategic long-term solutions and acquire an understanding of current state processes and business context.

On the testing side your key areas of focus will include the following:
  • the implementation of new reporting requirements, impacting quarterly submissions to APRA and daily internal monitoring processes
  • tracking timing and completion of SIT in conjunction with Technology
  • developing the UAT approach and strategy and drive the testing workstream
  • tracking progress of UAT tasks using JIRA
  • flagging defects for escalation and coordinating resources to resolve
  • acquiring an understanding of current state processes and business context
  • supporting the business through execution of business acceptance/user acceptance test cases.

Daily tasks also include creating/updating BRD's for new and refined requirements and documenting and owning business acceptance test cases while also identifying and investigating unexpected behaviours or patterns in input and output data.

You will focus on managing, reviewing and analysing testing issues and identifying options and recommendations working closely with technical analysts to ensure business functional requirements are correctly translated into technical specifications. You will document target business process and business readiness task lists and support the business through execution of business acceptance/user acceptance test cases and prove accurate and timely updates to the project manager and work stream leads. Experienced senior level internal and external stakeholder engagement and relationship building is a key part of success in this position and high performing team.

To be successful as a candidate for this opportunity, you will bring knowledge of, and a genuine interest in working on business process change and/or new platform implementation projects in the financial services industry working as a Business Analyst. You will have experience working on regulatory capital or liquidity projects, ideally Large Exposures (APS221 / 222) and familiarity with Axiom would be highly advantageous - in particular, knowledge of Axiom reporting Taxonomy. Additionally, any knowledge of Moody's Risk Authority and/or Alteryx & PowerBI would be beneficial for this role. Experience with Agile would be highly advantageous as well as strong negotiation and influencing skills. Years of experience in project documentation and experience in all stages of project life cycles including analysis, design, build and test support and implementation will ensure success in this role. Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills and a flexible, solution-oriented approach to project management are a must. Prince2 or PMI qualifications as well as CA/CPA qualifications are an advantage.
