The opportunity

Key aspects of this position:

  • Provide accounting advice on technical accounting issues
  • Prepare key reports on the firm's results and build an ability to present findings to Accounting Operations manager or other leadership team members
  • Liaise with Global Delivery Services (GDS) General Ledger (GL) team to educate and assist in resolving queries
  • Liaise with GDS team to ensure all work priorities are completed and review work completed for accuracy and completeness
Identify process efficiencies and work towards implementing these improvements

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Commerce.
  • Has completed or is close to completing either the CA Program (Chartered Accounting Australia & New Zealand) or CPA qualification (Certified Practising Accountant), or holds an equivalent qualification.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a finance function, with general ledger account reconciliation and journal preparation experience.
  • Good understanding of key accounting principles and IFRS.
  • Experience in a professional service environment.
  • Hard-working with a pro-active, positive and co-operative attitude.
  • Excellent client service skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good excel skills (pivot and V-lookups).
  • Ability to "think outside the box", when solving problems.
  • Solid understanding of all available business tools such as GFIS, Business Objects and gBiller.
