Junior Analyst – Regulatory Risk & Compliance - 6 month contractYou will play a key role managing the centralised co-ordination of regulatory development impacting the Australian businesses and regulatory interactions relating to ASIC.
Joining the Regulatory Risk team, you will work across all business units and assist in co-ordinating Macquarie's response on regulatory developments, including co-ordinating with relevant stakeholders at the consultation phase to ensure risks are appropriately assessed and sufficient reporting is provided to senior stakeholders.
Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Risk, the role sits within the broader Central Compliance team which also covers policies, licencing, compliance training and regulatory assurance. Additional responsibilities will also include the co-ordination of regulatory interactions with ASIC to ensure responses are timely and complete, including reporting to senior management and the boards.
As the successful candidate, you will need to be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the regulatory and compliance environment in financial services and solid regulatory compliance knowledge and experience from within one of the Big 4 audit firms, a financial services organisation or a financial services regulator. Prior experience in dealing with local laws and regulations would also be advantageous.
To thrive in this role, you will also need good stakeholder management skills with the ability to negotiate at all levels. You must demonstrate an inquisitive and analytical mind with the ability to proactively identify and analyse problems and propose viable solutions.
