HR ispartnering with Corporate (Employment) Tax to establish comprehensiveEmployment Tax services for the firm. This includes establishing thegovernance and framework to enable monitoring and compliance with prevailingemployment tax obligations and remediation of any issues arising. Corporate Tax will be responsible for interpretation, application and advice onchanges to the tax and social security legislation. The HR Tax OperationsManager will be primarily accountable for the implementation of the taxchange into the operational framework, this includes monitoring andoperationalization of compliance with employment tax and social securitylegislation for the APAC region. The role will report to the APAC Head ofHRSD.

Aboutthe Role

As the HR Tax Operations Manageryour key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing HR processes to validate compliance totax legislation across APAC. Identifying and implementing processes where gapsexist.
  • Partnering with the Employment Tax team to helpinterpret tax advice into practical delivery for HR teams, and supporting theseteams in the completion of actions required to meet tax obligations
  • Accountable for project management of tax changes including producingPlan to implementation, identification and effective management of issues(logging and tracking to closure), engaging appropriate stakeholders andeffective status reporting.
  • Providing awareness of payroll tax developmentsand support implementation of necessary changes to payroll processes andmonitor to closure
  • Providing support with the payroll complianceprocess where employment tax technical oversight or support is required and directprocess changes as required where legislative changes impact the operation ofpayroll
  • Providing support with payroll taximplementation of new benefit arrangements, including reviewing/monitoring ofthe ongoing tax compliance aspects
  • Providing support to the HRSD team with thedetermination of payroll engagement status and monitor the process for requiredupdates
  • Assisting with tax input into employee sharescheme and stock reporting requirements for both domestic and internationalemployees e.g. annual employer reporting
  • Developing and managing any new product/productchange process to ensure sign off and implementation of tax/legal/ regulatoryrequirements and monitor to closure
  • In partnership with payroll identify andimplement improvements to internal payroll tax processes and controls,including assisting with the operational employment tax aspects of new systemimplementations
  • Assisting with preparation and roll out ofinternal health checks and remediation steps
  • Building and maintaining positive relationshipswith internal stakeholders including the wider HR Functions, Employment Tax,Corporate Tax and Finance
  • Keeping technical knowledge up to date andoffering support to others where relevant, including assessing new developmentsin the employment taxes sphere
  • Responsibility for working in accordance withthe JPMC Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the JPMC policies,including participation in the management of risks (including completion ofmandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests orreputation of the firm

About you

As an HR TaxOperations Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
  • College or degree level further education
  • Qualified tax advisor or relevant workexperience (5-7 years)
  • Experience in employment tax compliance
  • Strong project management experience andorganizational skills are essential
  • Awareness/knowledge of recent legislative andtechnical changes in employment taxes and the practical impact of these changes
  • Experience of implementing best practice/changemanagement processes from an operational perspective
  • Be challenging of mind and with a track recordof managing change, delivering process improvements and results
  • Skilled communicator within and across disciplines,including experience of delivering training sessions and presentations
