Newly created job role in Governance and Compliance in Investments at a growing Superannuation fund
Your new company
A well-respected and growing Superfund who have manage around $13bn AUM based in Sydney.

Your new role
With the growth of the Investments team and the complexity of products and services offered by the Fund, there is a need for a Governance Officer to specifically monitor the compliance of the department. They are looking for a proactive and commercially focused individual who can support the Investment team so that it can execute its strategy, as well as process and control improvement, in a highly regulated and changing environment.
  • Assisting the team manage and monitor its outsourcing relationships in accordance with APRA's prudential standards and internal policies.
  • Get involved with signing off PDS and website material in respect to investment information
  • The fund has a strong ESG and climate change focus, so monitoring of ESG and responsible investing by the Investment team in line with internal policies
  • Assist with compliance reporting and the Fund's compliance with regulatory obligations, including portfolio holding disclosure requirements and Modern Slavery reporting
  • Work with the Compliance team in the research, development and implementation of proper controls including any policies or frameworks, as well as oversight, for investment-related activities
  • Maintain an awareness of new laws and regulatory developments, including prudential standards, as they relate to investment-related activities
  • Assist in the review and updating of existing investment policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
What you'll need to succeed
  • Tertiary qualification in finance, business, law or a relevant discipline
  • 2-4 years' experience in compliance or risk management at a financial institution and/or a Big 4 consulting firm or auditing superannuation funds
  • Ideally some experience in the Investment management industry in Compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in providing concise and clear advice
  • Some Exposure to regulation affecting a responsible superannuation entity (RSE), including for example the Corporations Act, SIS Act and/or prudential standards would be highly desirable but not essential
  • Someone who wants to grow with the business and make this new role their own
