How will I help?

The Fraud Analyst's role is to analyse information related to financial crime and implement detection strategies which mitigate risk and prevent financial loss, whilst ensuring there is minimal impacts to customer experience, product profitability and brand reputation.

Key accountabilities include analysis and interrogation of data to support fraud detection and uncover fraudulent activities, identifying emerging fraud trends and detecting accounts at risk, making continual improvements to detection system rules p rovide insights into trends and anomalies to aid prevention and m aintaining internal reporting platforms to assist with analysis whilst becoming an expert in product systems and processes.

What do I need?

The successful candidate will ideally be Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or Actuarial Science. You will also have technical skills in some of SQL, SAS, R or similar languages, with proven experience in using these to interrogate and manipulate large data sets. You will also bring to the team your proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence non-technical stakeholders. Experience in working in a Fraud or Risk Analytics environment within financial services would be highly advantageous. In your spare time you may enjoy playing games such as chess, poker or board games with a competitive nature as these display similar thought processes to fraud detection.
