Executive Manager, Mortgage Quality & Conduct- Portfolio Integrity, Home Ownership
How will I help?

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Integrity, Home Ownership you will lead a team of 6 direct reports and drive all capabilities focused on sales quality, sales practices and mortgage misconduct and fraud.

Why does this position exist?

The Portfolio Integrity team is responsible for leading operational risk and compliance management across the end-to-end Home Ownership business across all our Westpac Group brands and channels. This role requires an experienced leader who is passionate about Home Ownership with a specific focus around Mortgage Quality Conduct from a risk identification and prevention perspective.

Major accountabilities of position
  • Leads all capabilities focused on sales quality, sales practices and mortgage misconduct and fraud.
  • Oversee a diverse team who complete "Day 2" checks on sales quality, targeted outlier and misconduct review as well as conduct portfolio deep dives.
  • Drive a program of work to improve the process of Sales Quality monitoring, building banker confidence, whilst adequately managing the associated risks of the business whilst also looking to automate the hindsight review process, enabling greater focus on risk reduction
  • Design and implement solutions and action plans to reduce the risks that exist across the value chain. This will involve delivery and coordination with multiple teams.
  • Prepare and present regular updates and reports to Senior Management. This will include presentations to Risk Committees
  • Develop and roll out a variety of new tools and frameworks to enhance the risk detection capabilities of the Portfolio integrity team.
  • Design and implement new capabilities to better support the identification of emerging risks across the mortgage sales process.

    What do I need?

    Key Capabilities/Experience

  • 5 years' experience in Risk Management or Process Management experience

  • Extensive understanding of the home loan customer process

  • Demonstrable experience working with senior stakeholders

  • Tertiary qualifications in business related discipline
