Commerce Cloud Solution Engineer

The Role

Salesforce is looking for a Solution Engineer to work closely with the sales teams, in the Australia region, providing in-depth technical knowledge and expertise. They will perform technical presentations and demonstrations of our ecommerce platform. The Solution Engineer will be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.

It provides a full range of capabilities that share a single view of customers, orders, products and prices and are powered by a single promotion, personalization, and price engine. A cloud-based solution with a multi-tenant architecture, the Salesforce Commerce solution is proven to be scalable, reliable, and secure.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Understand and communicate solution messaging at both a technical and business level
  • Support account executives in development of proposals and RFI / RFP responses
  • Author and provide presentations both to executive-level and working-level client audiences
  • Present standard software demonstrations
  • Develop and present custom demonstrations based on prospective client requirements using JavaScript, HTML, CSS and XML.
  • Provide industry expertise and guidance to clients
  • Guide prospective clients to the merits and strengths of the Commerce Cloud solution
  • Assist account executives in development of Target Account Selling strategies
  • Articulate market requests and needs to R&D and Marketing organisations in clear, concise manner
  • Remain current in industry and technology trends
  • Organize communications between teams and external vendors to develop solutions

Basic Requirements:
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects and activities concurrently
  • Strong and creative problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Highly motivated, persuasive, and success driven personality
  • Ability to lead and work as part of team
  • In depth knowledge of the retail industry
  • Detail-oriented

Preferred Requirements:
  • Proven track record in giving sales-oriented presentations to executive-level audiences
  • Minimum 5+ years of sales, marketing, operations, and/or consulting experience in a software company or eCommerce company
  • Successful participation in sales cycles in a pre-sales/consulting role
  • University degree in a related field
  • Develop and present custom demonstrations based on prospective client requirements using JavaScript, HTML, CSS and XML.
  • eCommerce experience a strong plus
  • Others system of record such as ERP
  • Understanding of architectural & integration concepts
