Join a leading Australian financial services organisation and play a key role in delivering a seamless client onboarding experience across institutional and corporate clients. Working within a high-performing operations team, you'll be responsible for managing KYC and AML requirements throughout the client lifecycle while partnering closely with front office, compliance, and financial crime teams.
The RoleAs a Client KYC Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring clients are onboarded and maintained in accordance with local and international regulatory requirements. You'll work directly with clients and internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient onboarding, ongoing reviews, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct onboarding activities in line with KYC and AML policies for Australian and relevant international jurisdictions.
- Manage ongoing client life cycle activities, including periodic reviews, trigger event reviews, and client offboarding.
- Engage directly with clients and internal business stakeholders to obtain and validate KYC documentation and regulatory information.
- Maintain a strong controls environment that minimises operational risk while delivering a high standard of client service.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory obligations and internal policies.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with external service providers and vendors where required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, new processes, and broader industry projects.
- Participate in cross-training activities, knowledge sharing, and ongoing team development initiatives.
- 1-3 years' KYC/AML experience within financial services.
- At least 2 years' experience supporting Institutional Client Onboarding.
- Recent New Zealand KYC/AML experience will be highly regarded but not essential
- Strong understanding of Australian KYC requirements and AUSTRAC obligations (essential).
- Knowledge of New Zealand (FIU), Hong Kong (HKMA), and ADGM (FSRA) regulatory frameworks is advantageous.
- Experience working in a client-facing environment with a demonstrated ability to deliver operational outcomes.
- Exposure to Corporate Finance, Advisory, or Private Capital client onboarding is desirable.
- Experience supporting Sales & Trading businesses across Equities and Fixed Income is advantageous.
- Proven ability to build effective partnerships with business stakeholders and infrastructure teams.
- Ability to identify operational risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Experience using systems such as Fenergo, IHS Markit, World-Check One and BvD will be highly regarded.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
- Highly organised with strong time management capabilities.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a changing environment.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver within deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.
