Diners Club Australia operating on the Discover network is uniquely positioned in the credit card market to grow and establish itself as a mainstream payments brand in Australia. Diners Club is an important part of the Citi business, providing a robust and market leading commercial payments solution to an array of clients across a number of sectors and we've got ambitious plans to grow! A core part of the growth strategy is to expand our Merchant Acceptance footprint in Australia, which has created a number of exciting opportunities for Business Development Managers in the Merchant Acceptance team.
If you recognise the challenger in you and you're ready to use your Payments, Merchant Acquiring and/or B2B relationship management experience along with business acumen to lead the growth in Merchant Acceptance, then you'll be backed by an innovative team and a collaborative environment at Diners Club Australia.
Key accountabilities include:
  • Build and manage sales pipeline for merchants with a focus to grow merchant acceptance footprint in Australia
  • Work closely with the product and marketing team to develop a strong brand awareness strategy
  • Develop and foster strategic merchant relationships to maximise growth opportunities by deliver enhanced value propositions
  • Work with key stakeholders to stream line deal execution
  • Reporting to the Head of Merchant Acquiring, you will be integral to the success of this driven, dynamic, high-performing team
Skills and experiences required:
  • Strong credit card knowledge with preference for an understanding of payments and merchant acquiring
  • Strong business development experience primarily focused on retail and SME sector
  • Proven track record of success in a business development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven problem solving abilities and negotiation skills
  • Ability to understand financial business drivers and technology needs


  • Tertiary education in related field preferred however not essential
