Asset Management Data & Research - Business Development Manager

This Senior BDM role is responsible for developing relationships with Buy-Side clients while understanding the overall client needs and aligning products and services to their goals and strategies.

This person will lead all new sales activities and successfully retain business within Australia.  Activities will include increasing penetration of existing solutions within accounts, and build long term partnerships within these accounts. This role is located in their Sydney office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop key relationships at mid and senior levels with clients while understanding overall client needs and how our solution offerings fit to their overall goal and strategies
  • Meet and exceed revenue goals by selling all Asset Management offerings
  • Successfully renew existing business within each client account on a timely basis.
  • Expand the number of clients through successful prospecting techniques to win business.
  • Organize and execute successful program campaigns within assigned territory to expand new business pipeline.
  • Increase the penetration of existing solutions within accounts, and build long terms partnerships within these accounts
  • Be able to identify and deliver new revenue opportunities through direct communication in face to face meetings, telephone calls and developing proposals and strategy meetings
  • Develop a continuous pipeline of sales leads
  • Achieve monthly sales targets.
  • Manage existing business to maximise renewals
  • Grow existing client accounts through development and promotion of new services that align to the clients' goals and strategies
  • Grow and manage sales activity pipeline for new business through active sales and prospecting techniques
  • Demonstrate attitude of teamwork and relationship building within, and outside the company
  • Manage sales report, budget and forecasting activities on regularly basis.
  • Grow relationships within current and new accounts via industry networking opportunities
  • Create and maintain individual account plans for major accounts. Making formal presentations in scheduled account review meetings
  • Lead internal activities with cross-functional groups focused on client retention activities and new business development

Requirements:

  • A proven track record with a financial services vendor sales role, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in sales and RM.
  • Experience in selling data services along with subscription based products (like software) would be a definite asset
  • Proven selling skills; including a driven attitude
  • 5-7 years experience selling at senior levels within the financial services marketplace, including selling software and technology solutions to buy-side clients
  • A proven track record of acquiring new business, and successful account management
