AML Compliance Risk Management Officer- Institutional Clients Group
The Compliance Anti Money Laundering Risk Management Senior Analyst is an intermediate level role responsible for recommending/establishing internal procedures to prevent money laundering and assist in all matters concerning financial crimes in coordination with the broader Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team. The overall objective is to utilize established disciplinary knowledge to identify inconsistencies in data or result and formulate strategic recommendations on policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Identify, vet and address potential risks or escalated issues with the assistance of functional partners and key stakeholders
  • Utilize information from regulatory changes, new regulations, and internal policy changes to further identify new key risk areas
  • Analyze comparative data, prepare and present reports related to AML risk assessments, and monitor AML related issues and escalations
  • Develop approaches/action plans to compliance and control issues by weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations
  • Create and develop AML Compliance Risk Management (ACRM) standards and policies
  • Advise and recommend a plan of action for management based on analysis of risk information
  • Assist in coaching and training new recruits
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) certification
  • Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements applicable to banks
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

  • Bachelor's Degree/University degree or equivalent experience

This role (ACRM Officer) reports to the AMLCO. The strategic intent of the role is to ensure that all business areas meet their AML/CTF and sanctions, regulatory and policy obligations. The role supports the Institutional business.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide advice, interpretation on the application of AML/CTF legislation and relevant AML policy
  • Provide KYC and sanctions advisory to the ICG business- including day to day management of the AML Inbox
  • List management: Local sanctions List, Global red flag list, Global Remitters list- including update and reconciliation processes
  • Sanctions alert management (L2/L3 escalations)
  • Identify, investigate and escalate AML issues, red flags and policy exceptions and assure that senior management are fully informed of significant AML issues on a timely basis
  • Conduct MCA (Management Control Assessment) testing on all AML Compliance and FIU functions as allocated
  • Management of User entitlements and provide assistance with CBATs.
  • Review and validate AML/CTF metrics that are submitted locally and regionally, including provision of metrics for country FCC meeting
  • Ensure global and regional office requests are responded to within stipulated timeframe
  • Be a FIU designee and act as back up to the FIU team, o an 'as needs' basis


Technical/Specialist skills/competencies
  • Understanding of Australian AML/CTF laws, rules and regulations
  • Strong analytical skills
  • PC Skills - Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
  • Language - Strong written and verbal skills with ability to manage stakeholders

Business/Industry knowledge/competencies
  • Product: expected to have strong practical experience in banking

  • Experience in identifying risks and providing advice to business
