You will lead a newly established team with the remit to implement best practice budget management in support of sustaining world class Aerospace Surveillance and Response capabilities: the P-8A Poseidon and MQ4 Triton aircraft systems. You will be responsible for all outcomes associated with budget planning and development along with the in-year budget management and forecast development required to sustain and operate these aircraft systems. You will also lead activities to develop appropriate cost models that will enhance budget planning and decisions, and aid in managing the portfolio’s risk. The role requires a strategic mindset to provide agile budget analysis and advice throughout the financial year and for the development of the 10 year Defence Management Financial Plan (DMFP).
Effective stakeholder engagement is a critical success factor for this role. Pivotal relationships include the United States Navy (with whom the Australian Government has an enduring financial relationship for the provision of sustainment services) and our Air Force partner who operate the aircraft.

About our Team
The Surveillance and Response Systems Program Office (SRSPO) ensures the availability and performance of highly complex surveillance and response airborne and related systems for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). This includes the new P-8A Poseidon aircraft system and the P-3C (Electronic Warfare) aircraft capability. SRSPO also acquires and supports common Aeronautical Life Support Equipment (ALSE) that is used on all air vehicles operated by the RAAF, Navy and Army. In the near future we will support a new remotely piloted, high altitude, long endurance aircraft system, the MQ4 Triton.
