Are you an experienced SMSF Accountant looking to take the next step in your career with an established and growing Geelong-based accounting firm?
This is an opportunity to join a well-established SMSF team in a Senior capacity, managing a diverse portfolio of complex superannuation funds from start to finish. You'll be trusted to take ownership of your work, identify technical issues and opportunities, and provide high-quality outcomes for clients.
Working closely with Managers, Directors and the wider accounting team, you'll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of SMSF structures while also reviewing and delegating work to junior team members.

You'll be trusted to take ownership of your work, identify technical issues and opportunities, and provide high-quality outcomes for clients.
Working closely with Managers, Directors and the wider accounting team, you'll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of SMSF structures while also reviewing and delegating work to junior team members.
About You:
- Around 5+ years' experience working in an accounting firm, with a strong focus on SMSF.
- Relevant Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business.
- Strong technical knowledge of SMSF compliance and superannuation legislation.
- Exposure to a range of fund structures and investments, including pension funds, unit trusts, property, LRBA arrangements, shares, managed funds and wrap accounts.
- Strong experience preparing SMSF financial statements, investment reports, annual returns, minutes, pension documentation, TBARs, BAS and lump sum documentation.
- Experience researching and resolving technical superannuation matters.
- Previous experience reviewing the work of junior accountants and providing guidance where required.
- Experience with Class Super is highly desirable, with exposure to MYOB AE, FYI Elite, Kofax and Microsoft Office advantageous.
- SMSF Association Specialist Course/Training would be highly regarded.
- Senior SMSF Role: Take ownership of a diverse portfolio of SMSF clients and manage work from start to finish.
- Complex Technical Exposure: Gain exposure to a broad range of SMSF structures, including pensions, property, LRBAs, unit trusts, shares, managed funds and wrap accounts.
- Career Development: Continue developing your technical SMSF expertise within an established accounting and advisory environment.
- Autonomy & Ownership: Work with a high level of independence, taking responsibility for your jobs, deadlines and client outcomes.
- Mentoring & Leadership: Delegate and review work completed by junior team members, providing guidance and helping develop the wider SMSF team.
- Supportive Team Environment: Work closely with experienced Managers, Directors and accountants in a collaborative professional environment.
