National Insurance Branch Manager job opportunity in Melbourne

Globally, the company is made up of 300 experts who specialise in insuring cargo, fishing and other specialist vessels, and proudly cover over 8,000 vessels. Due to the current Australian Branch Manager nearing retirement, this rare opportunity has become available for a true industry leader to steer the way.

Your new role
  • Manage the insurance functions of the Australia branches
  • Maintain and grow business whilst maintaining high service
  • Develop and maintain beneficial relationships with intermediaries and insurers
  • Work closely with international directors & business leaders to maximise profitability
  • Undertake performance reviews as well as supporting continuous development within the team
  • Assist with budget setting and control expenses within budget
  • To manage, review and report on risks as part of day-to-day business activity
What you'll need to succeed
  • Expert knowledge of the Australian insurance industry is a must
  • Minimum of Associateship of ANZIIF (CIP) or equivalent
  • Underwriting and/or Broking within Marine insurance would be highly regarded
  • Previous management experience is a must; personnel management, mentoring & skills development, performance analysis, projections, and reporting
  • Prior experience in strategic growth would be highly regarded
  • A strong Victorian network within the insurance industry would be highly regarded
  • Despite being a fairly small operation in Australia, everyone knows and appreciates each other's strength within the team. You must have a collaborative approach
