Be inspired everyday – let your work make a difference
At HESTA we’re a leading national superannuation fund dedicated to people working in health and community services – a growing sector of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, day in day out, right across Australia.
More than 860,000 Australians trust HESTA with their money. We invest $55 billion of their savings globally, striving to generate strong investment returns and make a real difference to their financial futures. Our focus is on helping our members enjoy the retirement they’ve worked hard for.
HESTA recognises that members’ best interests are served by supporting a healthy economy, environment and society, and we are willing to be gutsy advocates to drive meaningful change for generations to come. We are a leading responsible and impact investor, and we are also the first Australian superannuation fund to be certified as Carbon Neutral.
We are seeking a strategically minded and member-focused Head of Portfolio Design. This pivotal senior leadership role will be responsible for leading the ‘top down’ aspects of the portfolio, including portfolio construction and risk analysis, economic and capital market research, and strategic tilting. This role will have pivotal leadership responsibilities, helping deliver the overall investment program and portfolio strategy, and will enhance an innovative, leading investment team with strong plans for growth in capability and capacity.
Reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer, and will lead a team of three General Managers and the extended Portfolio Design team, this position will drive and lead change as we shift to our forward strategy embracing a hybrid model – combining strong internal capability alongside the best external asset management partners the world has to offer.
We are seeking someone with an extensive background in portfolio design operating at a senior management level with experience working with boards and investment committees. Significant experience researching, analysing and presenting investment findings and asset allocation recommendations will be critical to your success in this role. A proven track record in people leadership, and in developing, engaging and retaining high performing teams, including through a significantly changing environment is essential.
An undergraduate and post graduate qualification focused on finance, economics or other related discipline will be highly regarded.
What’s in it for you?
HESTA is a great place to work but don’t take our word for it, we were named (again!) Employer of Choice for Gender Equality 2019.
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
