Business Development Associate (12 month contract)

We are looking for a Business Development Associate (12 month contract) to join the team based in Melbourne, Australia. This role involves providing back end and client services support for the retail sales team and their key accounts so being highly service oriented is a must. This role is also a key interface between the various Business Development Managers, and their key accounts. This highly driven individual would also work closely with other teams within the business.

Candidates must be able to join by end April/early May 2018.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?

  • Client Services
    • Primary provider of sales support to the retail sales professionals
    • Provide financial advisers and researchers with sales & marketing support
    • Respond to financial adviser and investor queries via phone and email including maintenance of the client service inbox.
    • Resolve any administration issues with direct investors
    • Proactively supply relevant product information, fund commentaries and manager updates to financial planners and researchers
    • Key liaison between the retails sales team and internal departments such as performance, product management and marketing teams
    • Preparation of Product presentations for sales pitches
    • Completion of follow up work from Sales appointments
    • Attendance at industry and client functions from time to time
  • Reporting
    • Monthly data reporting to research houses for FTI Funds
    • Weekly and monthly sales reporting for FTI Australia
    • Quarterly reporting to platforms and research houses for FTI funds
    • Industry reports, trends and growth charts
    • Respond to day to day requests from platforms, research houses and information providers
  • Office Support
    • Organize meeting rooms and video conferences for sales meetings and client functions
    • Printing and binding of presentation booklets and marketing flyers
    • Booking travel arrangements for FT staff
    • Answer incoming calls
    • Ensure there is an adequate supply of office stationary
    • General office manager duties for the Sydney office
  • Marketing
    • Coordinating client functions onsite and offsite

What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in financial services, banking or asset management firms
  • Financial qualifications is desired but not essential (e.g Finsia courses)
  • PS146 Compliant is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and both verbal and written communication skills
  • Service oriented and demonstrated problem solving abilities
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently and also actively participate in a team environment
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Highly organised and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Well versed with Computer applications - power point, excel, word, outlook etc.
  • Candidates who are able to join by end Apr 2018 is preferred
