A reputable Queensland organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their team.

Due to the growth of the business, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the team.

Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be heavily involved in the daily financial activity of the organisation to ensure the successful performance of the department. You will have strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people within and outside the organisation. Your role will include, but is not limited to:
  • Producing and managing financial reports,
  • Managing a small team of accountants,
  • Responsibility for the accuracy of the books of account of the entity ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards,
  • Managing the budget and overhead costs,
  • And the perpetration of the BAS and IAS.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will have proven experience in a manager role in a fast paced, corporate environment. CA or CPA qualification is essential, but also the completion of a tertiary degree or similar. You will have strong analytical skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritise, strong attention to detail and knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures. This role will require excellent written and verbal communication skills, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, positive attitude and building industry experience is desirable.
