An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a collaborative and high-performing finance team based on the Gold Coast. This role offers the opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment, supporting a large and diverse workforce while playing a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll outcomes.

Your Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll services while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards and company policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing end-to-end weekly and fortnightly payrolls.
- Conducting payroll audits, reconciliations and compliance checks.
- Managing new starter onboarding and maintaining employee records.
- Interpreting awards, agreements and employment variations.
- Processing superannuation, leave transactions and payroll adjustments.
- Administering WorkCover reimbursements and statutory obligations.
- Responding to payroll-related enquiries from employees and stakeholders.
- Maintaining payroll records and ensuring data integrity.
- Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives and payroll process enhancements.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and award interpretation.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working across payroll and HR systems.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
