Your new company
Based in the heart of the city, our client is one Australia's fastest growing Non-Bank lenders that is in a substantial growth phase that will see the company lead the way within the specialised SME lending market for many years to come. They are going to continue to expand their market share and market dominance and require the assistance of a strong Accounts Assistant to support their growth.

Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be an integral member of a small but highly effective finance team. You will be a self-starter, manage and process accounts payable and provide key support to the overall Finance Division.

Your day will include, but not limited to:
  • Manage the accounts payable function for the group, including:
  • Receiving, verifying, processing and reconciling invoices
  • Processing credit card statements for multiple card-holders
  • Pay invoice batches
  • Manage and reconcile accounts payable ledger
  • Assist in developing accounts payable processes and procedures
  • Supporting other Finance department functions as required, including:
  • Loans processing
  • Accounts receivable, bank processing and reconciliations
  • Management Accounting and bookkeeping
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly management reports
  • Assist in the annual audit process and preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Reconciling data between various software platforms
  • ATO, ASIC and other compliance duties
  • General administration such as updating CRM and other data records
  • Other ad hoc duties
What you'll need to succeed
To be effective in this role you will need demonstrated experience in a similar role and an Accounting degree would be highly regarded. You will enjoy working with numbers, have a keen eye for detail, work well within a team environment and have strong communication skills, written and verbal. You will be motivated and willing to get involved in all parts of the finance process.

You will also have the following attributes and knowledge:
  • Passion for the Finance/Investment industry highly regarded but not essential
  • Experience working with accounting software packages such as Quickbooks, Xero or equivalent is mandatory
  • Must have strong Microsoft office skills including Word, Excel & Outlook with the ability to quickly learn in-house systems
  • Highly organised, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise in a busy environment
  • Flexibility to work in a growing and evolving environment and adapt to changing systems
  • Work autonomously whilst being part of a small team
  • Positive and can-do attitude to take on any new duties which may include learning new and challenging tasks and where no task is too big or too small
