Tax Consultant / 12 Month Contract
3 days in office / 2 days WFH
You will join a global business with a strong Brisbane presence, in a contract opportunity within a high-calibre tax team. Given the scale of the organisation, there may also be longer-term opportunities that open over time.
This position has arisen due to internal team movements and will run for an initial 12 months. There is also a strong handover period in place, with the incumbent remaining in the business, ensuring a smooth transition and plenty of support on commencement.
The opportunity
As part of the Tax team, you will support a broad range of tax compliance, reporting, and project activities across the business. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid tax compliance experience who enjoys working across a varied remit in a large and complex organisation.
You will be involved in:
- Completing transfer pricing
- Supporting ongoing tax compliance obligations across the business
- Preparing and assisting with GST returns
- Working on the FBT return
- Supporting the income tax return
- Supporting controls testing and broader tax governance activities
- Assisting with tax audits and tax-related projects
- Contributing to process improvement and automation initiatives
About you
You will be someone who can step into a busy environment, pick things up quickly, and build credibility with the team and broader business. You will bring a strong grounding in tax compliance and be comfortable working across multiple systems and stakeholders.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in tax, ideally within a large or multinational business or practice
- A good working knowledge of tax compliance, including GST & FBT
- A strong understanding of transfer pricing
- The ability to navigate different ERP systems and work across large, sometimes complex datasets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A high level of attention to detail, organisation, and critical thinking
- A willingness to learn the business and become a valued part of the team
- CA / CPA / CTA completed or in progress
- A degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, or Law
