Our client, a large well known hospital based in South Bank, is currently seeking a Solution Architect for their Integrated Care Program for an initial 12 month contract.
This position will be required to interact with many separate organisations, with separate ICT systems, that are for all intents and purposes, geographically co-located. Depending on the requirements of the patient, and the service capabilities of the hospital, patients are frequently "shared" between many organisations.
This role is part of a team of technical representatives charged with the responsibility to design, develop and deploy solutions to meet the requirements of the Integrated Care Digital Program as articulated through the Business, Clinical and Consumer Reference Groups. The Solution Architect will represent the hospital through the design, development and deployment process, and must be able to identify, develop and promote opportunities that support the requirements of both the Program and the business interests.
Responsibilities:
  • Represent CHQ as a core member of the Integrated Care Digital Program's Technical Working Group (TWG)
  • Establish effective working relationships with the Programs' project management, clinical, business, consumer and technical personnel
  • Clarify business requirements and identify solution opportunities leveraging existing infrastructure and capabilities
  • Ensure architectural solutions align with program principles, architectural visions and organisational strategies
  • Assist in the development of a robust, reusable and extensible solution foundation that supports both the initial and long-term requirements of the Program
  • Develop technical design documents including Solution Architecture Designs, Component Design Specifications, Interface Specifications and Test plans/scripts/reports
  • Develop technical design artefacts such as sequence diagrams, data layouts, component topologies and roadmaps
  • Develop of engagement documents and work packages for solution design, development and deployment
  • Contribute to the development of functional and non-functional requirements and evaluation criteria to support the procurement of products and services
  • Contribute to the development of service level agreements and key performance indicators
  • Contribute to the development of high-level plans, product breakdown structures, cost estimates and project schedules
  • Facilitate approval/gateway processes, change control governance and transition to operations
  • Provide status reports to executive
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required
  • Establish sound architectural frameworks and provide strong technical governance across the program
  • Engage and lead business and technical subject matter experts
  • Analyse business requirements and apply lateral and creative thinking to identify solution options
  • Develop relevant solution assessment criteria and evaluate solution options
  • Secure cross-enterprise approval for the recommended solution
  • Lead the design, development and deployment of the approved solutions
Essential Criteria:
  • At least 5 years' experience designing, developing and delivering enterprise and cross-enterprise ICT solutions in large and complex environments
  • Experience in establishing and leading technical working groups and achieving effective outcomes
  • Experience with business process modelling, analysis and reengineering activities
  • Experience with service-oriented and event-driven architectures
  • Experience in graphical user interface design and development
  • Experience with enterprise-grade relational database management systems
  • Experience with middleware technologies such as integration engines and enterprise service buses
  • Experience with application integration methods including file transfer, messaging, APIs and Web services
  • Experience with exchange formats such as XML, JSON, EDI, separated variable files (comma/tab/colon/pipe/space)
  • Experience with Enterprise Information Architecture development, Data Standards and Governance, and Enterprise Information Exchange specifications
  • Experience with cross-enterprise Master Data, Reference Data and Metadata Management and supporting services
  • Experience with cross-enterprise Identity and Access Management design and
  • Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies and associated processes and tools
  • Experience with and or demonstrated knowledge of infrastructure specification, evaluation and selection, including software, hardware and telecommunications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields
Desirable Criteria:
  • Solution architecture experience in the healthcare industry
  • Experience in application development platforms such as .Net and Eclipse
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, VB, C, C+, C#, Ruby, Perl, Python, Monk
  • Experience with architectural tools such as Alfabet, ARIS, Enterprise Architect, Eclipse UML and Rational Software Architect
  • Experience with exchange ontologies including HL7, CDA, FHIR, DICOM
  • Strong organisational, communication, negotiation and leadership skills, with the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience and attitude to get into the details and ability to define and develop solution and technology architectures, patterns and conduct proof of concepts.
