Commodities and Financial Markets' diverse platform has evolved over more than 30 years and

exposed to commodities and financial markets. The group's global reach includes 24-hour coverage

of energy, metals, mining and agriculture; fixed income and currencies; credit; and futures markets.

The Corporate Operations Group (COG) provides essential and professional support across all areas

of Macquarie. COG is comprised of three divisions whose core functions include Market Operations,

Technology and Corporate Services Group. These functions work together to provide a seamless

multi-disciplinary support infrastructure tailored to business requirements.

The Market Operations Division of COG is looking to appoint an Associate / Senior Associate in the

Energy Operations team focusing on all aspects of support:

Responsibilities will include:

  • Operational support for Crude and Refined Products; Power and Natural Gas
  • Verification of deals entered into ETRM against Broker confirmations - both electronic andpaper; as well as Trading Blotters
  • Confirmation and Broker matching via eConfirm
  • Generating ISDA, WSPP, EEI Confirmations as well as drafting Long-Form Confirmations for Power and Natural Gas trades
  • Reconciliation of Settlement Invoices against ETRM system, customer records, supply and transportation records.
  • Preparation of all relevant documentation for Settlement and liaising with Counterparties to agree final Settlement amounts
  • Follow up and resolution of Settlement breaks and Post Settlement Adjustments.
  • Managing relevant internal and external relationships. Cross training between products and roles as required by the business.
  • Identifying and resolving issues and escalating prudently to direct and senior management.
  • Identifying areas of improvement across systems, processes and procedures
  • Regulatory Reporting

To be successful in this role the candidate requires:
  • Degree Qualification with relevant 1-5 years of experience in energy or financial operations
  • Good knowledge base of financial and physical energy products and markets.
  • Working knowledge of ISDA documentation, EEI and WSPP contracts.
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to prioritise tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and a low tolerance for error
  • Ability to initiate and incorporate updated procedures and processes
  • Experience working in a busy team environment with demonstrated ability to work under pressure
  • Be highly motivated, professional, and possess strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word experience
  • Act with a high level of personal accountability and ownership of their role
