Fixed Income Product Manager

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a segment of the overall fixed income product line including business development, product positioning, product line management and competitive analysis
  • Assist Director of Fixed Income Product Management in developing, positioning and promoting the fixed income product line across both retail and institutional distribution channels
  • Develop and maintain periodic portfolio and market updates, including investment issues and marketing ideas relating to their specific product line

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist Director of Fixed Income Product Management with product line rationalization by assuming a leadership role within the product development process. This includes identifying product gaps, and prioritizing new product ideas and initiatives. Construct research on product initiatives using industry databases and research services
  • Help develop product strategy and financial business plan, working with investment management and our distribution partners
  • Responsible for having a strong understanding of the product line by becoming the "product advocate" by proactively disseminating investment related information while communicating the product message through verbal, print and electronic media to Delaware Investments' distribution partners
  • Help define and position a specific segment of the fixed income product line within the company and across distribution channel
  • Responsible for contributing to the sales effort by occasionally representing the company and products through active participation in industry presentations
  • Report on Delaware Investments' and competitors' product performance, portfolio composition, pricing, and service
  • Develop and maintain periodic portfolio and market updates, including investment issues, marketing ideas and attribution analysis
  • Responsible for overall competitive analysis within the segment of the fixed income product line
  • Assist in developing marketing campaigns for major product focuses (message, strategy, implementation)
  • Help identify and research trends in the asset management industry and determine how or if Delaware Investments should participate
  • Work with portfolio managers on presentations for use with financial intermediaries, consultants and clients
  • Develop, maintain and edit marketing literature/sales ideas, product profiles, RFPs, questionnaires, and market commentaries

Job Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience, Attributes
  • BA/BS Degree required; MBA/MS or CFA a plus
  • 4-7 prior years experience in financial services industry required - preferably in product management or marketing
  • Series 7 or acquisition within 6 months of hire
  • Strong analytical and quantitative aptitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong investment knowledge
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills
  • Project oriented and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
