Financial Analyst/Strategy Associate – Delaware Investments

Purpose of Position

The Strategy Associate will provide expert financial modeling and analysis to support on-going profitability reporting, and strategic business initiatives including mergers & acquisitions, product development, competitor intelligence, and other ad hoc assignments. This role will provide critical analytical support to the Vice President, Strategic Analysis and interface with senior leaders throughout the organization on high-profile business initiatives. Members of the team must excel in a dynamic fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing business needs including potential travel (less than15%) and working evenings and weekends.

Position responsibilities:

  • Drive production of quarterly/monthly product profitability reporting and analysis for the business
  • Support the corporate competitor intelligence reporting and analysis activities
  • Support strategy and corporate development activities including potential mergers & acquisitions
  • Provide analytical support for the business, as needed, pertaining to the evaluation of new product launches and related initiatives
  • Support on-going strategic analysis for the business and ad hoc requests as needed

Position skills and requirements:
  • BA/BS in finance/accounting with excellent academic results
  • Advanced degree or certification preferred (e.g. CPA, CFA, or MBA)
  • 4 - 7 years of experience in accounting and finance with a focus on financial analysis and modeling
  • Expert ability to design and maintain complex financial models
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis and financial modeling
  • Expert computer skills including MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
  • Entrepreneurial, highly motivated and self-directed with a can-do attitude
  • Effectively interact and communicate with various levels of employees
  • Maintains high standards of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Flexibility in handling change
  • Strong sense of ownership for delivering excellent results
