Software Engineer

Objective: Moody's Investor Services (MIS) seeks a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on development of analytic tools and databases.

The Software Engineer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of analytic tools and databases used by analysts during the ratings process. He/she will be working with a capable team to deliver and support these custom applications.

The MIS technology teams play a key role in ensuring Moody's ability to deliver the highest quality structured, fundamental and public finance ratings. The teams work directly with the ratings analysts to provide financial analytics and data driven software solutions.
The SFG Technology team supports a substantial portfolio of analytical platforms used on a daily basis by structured finance analysts globally. The team is located in New York, London, Frankfurt and reports to the senior management of the Structured Finance Group.

- Supporting existing and future applications and databases
- Assisting developers in the creation of applications and databases
- Design, develop and maintain software systems using SQL, Excel, VBA, XML and C#.NET
Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- In depth knowledge and experience building and working with relational databases. Proficiency in SQL Server is a requirement. Knowledge of MS Access, ParAccel, Sybase ASE is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Excel, VBA, XML and C#.NET
- Knowledge of VB.NET, Jira, SSMS, SSRS and SSIS is a plus
- Experience with agile software development is a plus
- Experience in financial services and structured finance is advantageous
- Ability to work well within a team
- Passionate about solving problems in the simplest and most efficient way
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities
