Middle Office Associate - EM

The Middle Office Associate will engage in all middle office functions with an emphasis on trade settlements for both equity and fixed income trades across global markets with a focus on Emerging Markets. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining current documentation as it relates to overseas cash & custody accounts. This position will also be responsible for researching and responding to corporate actions.

Other responsibilities include assisting with RFPs as needed, as well as providing backup coverage to other members of the Emerging Markets middle office team.


Perform timely and accurate settlement of trades and resolve any trade discrepancies
Ensure that all trade confirmations are received and verified
Review/Enter trades into CRD, CitiDirect and Excel tracking sheets
Liaise with custodians & brokers and internal back office on settlement issues
Maintain trade filing system
Assist with maintenance of all custody documentation
Research and coordinate responses to corporate actions
Assist in responding to RFPs
Review quarterly financials
Prepare and submit required reporting (i.e. KYC, IRS Account listing, etc)
Construct statistical data for marketing from model portfolios
Create ad hoc reporting

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is critical in this role; proficiency in Microsoft Word is also necessary
3-5 years of experience of relevant middle office or investment operations experience
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Strong organization and time management skills
Strong analytical skills with an excellent attention to detail
Team-oriented and ability to work well in a deadline-driven environment

Desired Qualifications:

Working knowledge of Bloomberg and Charles River (CRD)
Registered notary a plus
