Macquarie Asset Management (MAM; formerly known as Macquarie Funds Group) is a full-service asset manager, offering a diverse range of products including securities investment management, infrastructure and real asset management, and fund and equity-based structured products.

MAM comprises the following three divisions:
• Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets
• Macquarie Investment Management
• Macquarie Specialised Investment Solutions

Macquarie Specialised Investment Solutions manufactures and distributes a range of tailored investment solutions over funds and listed equities including fund-linked products, capital protected investments, a hedge fund incubation platform, agriculture investment solutions, infrastructure debt funds management and restructuring solutions. The division is recognized for product innovation, with a strong track record of delivering tailored solutions to the market.

The Fund Linked Products business provides derivative solutions and financing to alternative funds and their investors. The capabilities include origination, structuring, syndication and risk management. The products offered include financing collateralised by individual hedge funds, hedge fund portfolios, private equity funds and other forms of collateral as well as capital protection in the form of threshold management/CPPI and options over hedge funds and mutual funds.

The business consists of a number of dedicated teams, with origination and structuring primarily conducted out of New York, and Trading and Risk Management in Sydney.

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an Analyst with 2-4 years of experience to join the New York based team of our Fund Linked Product business. As part of a global Account Management team, the successful individual will have the ability to analytically and strategically assess client requirements, engage stakeholders in goals and objectives and take on various account management responsibilities in order to successfully deliver on those objectives.

You will also have responsibility for:

  • Managing the life cycles of financing and derivative transactions, from the execution phase through to coordinating day-to-day transactional activities
  • Establishing a thorough understanding of the legal, structural and operational aspects of transactions in order to become a product champion for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Delivering effective client service and fostering close and positive working relationships with all clients
  • Working cross functionally and collaborating with key internal stakeholders to facilitate knowledge-sharing between teams managing transactions
  • Reviewing Macquarie's risk positions and acting as key point of contact internally
  • Managing the introduction of new products to the platform
  • Identifying and driving process improvements

About you

To set you up for success in this role, you will be passionate about clients, driving results and providing solutions to meet their needs. In addition you will have:
  • A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or Engineering or a related discipline
  • Two to four years of experience in Finance with strong commercial acumen and judgment
  • Basic understanding of credit and/or ISDA documentation a plus
  • Strong internal stakeholder management skills and the ability to positively influence your team through your energetic and proactive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong prioritisation skills, the ability to deliver within tight timelines, show effectiveness in your planning and ensuring quality output whilst demonstrating excellent attention to detail
  • Resilience, as well as a flexible and adaptable approach, including the ability to work independently
