Job Description
Wells Fargo Commercial Real Estate (CRE), an industry leader, provides a comprehensive platform of financing and banking solutions to regional and national owners, operators and developers, public and private REITs, and real estate investment management and private equity firms. The CRE Risk Management team provides risk management support and oversight for the multiple lines of business within CRE.

This position is on the Financial Crimes Team within Commercial Real Estate (CRE). The individual will be part of a Team that has responsibility for the execution of governance and control processes realted to Fraud and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) risk management programs across CRE lines of business.

Position will work across LOB stakeholder groups to ensure a systematic, disciplined, and consistent approach to the management of the Financia Crimes risk program. Stakeholder groups may include Lines of Business, Wells Fargo Audit Services, and Corporate / Wholesale Risk Functions. The Team Member will evaluate, quantify, and ensure that controls are working as designed, identify and implement components of an effective Financial Crimes risk program, drive consistent and effective process management / improvement, and may have accountability for projects (technology, process, or data). This Team Member will also consult with business leaders to develop corrective action plans and effectively manage change. Report findings and develop business cases to influence management on the need for controls to mitigate risk.

Individual Responsibilities may include:

  • Support program requirements to manage Fraud, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Identity Theft, and other Financial Crimes programs.
  • Work with LOB Teams to assess Financial Crimes risk associated with new and modified products.
  • Ensuring appropriate management summaries are created as scheduled, including appropriate aggregation of details and analysis / synthesis to provide stakeholders / management appropriate details and meaningful risk information.
  • Understanding core Financial Crimes risk methodology and incorporating best practices.
  • Review/assessment of line of business risks and controls to ensure internal risk management systems are adequately updated/maintained timely.
  • Day to day support of LOB teams and clear understanding of business goals/objective s as well as applicable Financial Crimes risks.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: fraud, Bank Secrecy Act, anti money laundering, investigations of financial crimes transactions or policy violations, risk management, or compliance; or a BS/BA degree or higher in applied sciences, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance or criminal justice and 4+ years experience in the foregoing
