The Legal Entity Control team is a part of the Macquarie FMG focused on legal entity control (LEC) of Macquarie Group entities. The LEC framework exists to manage legal entity risk and to support the overall financial control framework in place at Macquarie for Group legal entities. Legal entity risk is defined as the risk of loss or error from a failure to satisfy the statutory or regulatory obligations of a legal entity.



Legal Entity Control has broad responsibilities including financial control, financial reporting and financial compliance. The Legal Entity Control team in Jacksonville, FL is involved in monitoring the performance and regulatory compliance for numerous legal entities of Macquarie Group within the Americas and EMEA regions.

Key responsibilities include:

Financial Reporting Activities:

  • Preparation of financial statements and board reports under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Manage audit requirements and respond and conclude audit queries with the right level of escalation
  • Assist Tax Reporting by providing legal entity performance drivers and fluctuations analysis for the preparation of tax returns and regular payments
  • Preparation of financial reports for Board Meetings
  • Entity Management responsibilities:
  • Perform periodic balance sheet and P&L analytical review of the entity
  • Work with Business teams to understand the key drivers of the legal entity's performance and balance sheet fluctuations
  • Work with various stakeholders on legal entity related projects, including Group acquisitions, reorganizations, liquidations, and disposals.
  • Perform legal entity foreign exchange risk management activities
  • Reconciliation and attestation of legal entity specific balances
  • As you demonstrate your competency in performing these responsibilities, you take on the title of Legal entity Controller for a Cluster of Low - Medium Complexity business entities.

What this means for you:

Bachelors Degree, in accounting and/or finance
  • Hold a professional accounting qualification, preferably a CPA
  • 3-5 years of experience with a strong focus on the technical / specialist skills
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Prior experience in Consolidation / Group Reporting / Financial Statement Preparation & IFRS exposure is an added advantage.
