Investment Operations: Is responsible for the development of the firm's operating infrastructure to support BlackRock's investment businesses worldwide. IO establishes and coordinates operational processes and procedures internally and externally with clients, custodians, prime brokers, broker-dealers and other vendors and is responsible for managing BlackRock's broker-dealer and custodian bank relationships.

Team Overview

Settlements Team: The settlements team is responsible for confirmation, research, and resolution of all global fails with brokers and custodians. General functions include research and resolution of all fails, claims processing, and management reporting. Day to day management of dealer and custody relationships is a key focus as well as fostering globally consistent fail reporting and processing, enhancing operational control and reporting, eliminating risk and servicing internal and external constituents to re-affirm expectations and deliver superior client service.

Role Responsibility

We are seeking a modestly experienced professional (3+ years) who wants to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will be someone with a strong operational background and the ability to multitask. The ideal individual will be someone with working knowledge of the settlement and claims process and has proven leadership abilities.

Responsibilities:
• Confirm, research, and resolve fails with custodian and broker dealer across all products and sectors.
• Work with Trade Operations and Portfolio Management to resolve exceptions.
• Process claims to banks and dealers based on information received through trade resolution.
• Work with Blackrock securities lending to ensure there is no exposure to loan encumbered positions.
• Maintain awareness of industry changes and their impact on the settlements process.

Experience

Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in Finance or similar concentration required.
• Understanding of financial markets and related instruments.
• Solid working knowledge and understanding of settlements and claims.
• Team player with excellent attention to detail, problem solving/analytical abilities, research skills and willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication skills.
• PC proficient with experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and various Investment Management and settlement platforms.
